Contemporary, Lyrical & Dance Acro

To create a more well-rounded and versatile dancer, we offer several different dance forms to explore for both the recreational and vocational dancers.

CONTEMPORARY
(Intermediate & Senior Levels)
LYRICAL & DANCE ACRO
(Intermediate & Senior Levels)

Lyrical appeals to the creative, artistic dance student because of its expressiveness and freedom of individuality. Classes introduce students to elements of neo-classical based technique including fundamental principles of contraction & release, spiral, and shift of weight. The sudents focus on movement from the inside out, encouraging use of breath, energy, and connection.

Class begins with a warm up followed by a careful stretching and conditioning section. Traditional floorwork exercises progress into standing work and moves to travelling phrases across the floor, and culminates in movement phrases and dances that explore the softness and soul of the music and dancer. Basics of acrobatics are taught in the class using a professional acrobatics mat and other aids.
